Background
Join poker legend Doyle Brunson in his own online poker room. Doyle is also joined by poker heavyweights Hoyt Corkins and Mike Caro in Doyle's Room and players can sit down with these poker players for a game, or a chat. Impressive daily and monthly guaranteed tournaments deliver great value for online players and the new player bounty rebate in addition to the first deposit bonus means that there has never been a better time to sign up and play at Doyle's Room. In January 2009, Doyle's Room moved to the Cake Poker Network which at the time of writing ranked in the top three networks that accepted players on a worldwide basis.
Limits and Rake
The limits at Doyle's Room begin at a low $0.05/$0.10 for No Limit Texas Holdem and increase in steady increments to $200/$400. Pot Limit and Limit Texas Holdem tables also begin at $0.05/$0.10 and max out at $100/$200 and $150/$300 respectively. The Omaha tables start at $0.10/$0.20 and end at $250/$500, whilst the Stud tables start at $0.25/$0.50 and increase steadily through to $200/$400.
The rake at Doyle's Room is heavily dependent on the number of players competing in a hand, the limit level and the size of the pot. The rake is capped at $3 regardless of limit level or pot size.
Player Traffic
At the time of writing, there were just under 4,000 players seated at around 2,000 tables. An impressive number, that is sure to increase during peak periods. Player traffic is localized at the Texas Holdem tables although action can be found at the other games, however it can be scarce and not at the preferred limit level. The move to the Cake Poker Network means access to a greater number of players, which should in turn attract more players to Doyle's Room in the coming months.
Playability
Games at Doyle's Room run at an incredibly quick pace. The Cake Poker Network platform is stable and secure. There are three different lobby configurations available to players, allowing one click play, quick sorting of rooms and limits and find-a-room wizard. The tables themselves are large and cards are easy to distinguish. The action buttons are a little small but once players are accustomed to the layout, it shouldn't be a problem. As mentioned, the gameplay moves quickly, even whilst multi-tabling, although the large chat box can become distracting.
Software and Extra Features
A well designed lobby and table interface is matched with some convenient features. These include:
Multi-Language – Players can select one of nine languages.
Hand History – Find out where you went wrong, or relive past glory.
Buddy List – Extensive buddy list options, including invites to private games.
Multi-Table – Up to four tables can be played at once.
Casino – Only one click to the Casino lobby.
Action Points – Earn points to buy merchandise, VIP status and even entries to live events.
